Privacy Policy

Account data: Your email address, used to create and authenticate your account. We never store a password — authentication uses a one-time code sent to your email.

Usage data: A count of how many OCR requests you make per day and per billing period. We use this to enforce plan limits and display your usage in the dashboard.

Screen content: When you press the hotkey and drag a selection, the selected region of your screen is captured, base64-encoded, and sent to our server for OCR processing. We do not store, log, or retain any screen content after the text has been extracted and returned to your clipboard.

• We do not run any background screen recording or monitoring.
• We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or crash reports beyond what is described above.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not store the text extracted from your screen — it is only passed to your clipboard.

SnipCopy requires macOS Screen Recording permission to capture a region when you activate it. This permission is only used at the moment you press the hotkey and drag a selection. The app does not access your screen at any other time.

Account data (email, plan, usage counters) is stored in Supabase, a cloud database with encryption at rest and in transit. Screen content sent for OCR is processed via OpenRouter and is not retained on their servers beyond the duration of the API call per their policy.

Your bearer token (used to authenticate API calls from the app) is stored locally on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/SnipCopy/config.json. It is never transmitted except to our own API endpoint.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@snipcopy.xyz. We will remove your email and usage records within 30 days.
